Job Description:

Specialized Adult Care is currently hiring Certified Nursing Assistants.

This position provides direct personal care and daily living assistance to patients. The Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) will provide care to patients in the Metro Atlanta Area and surrounding locations. This position requires a Certification in Nursing Assistant. Current CPR and TB immunization is required.

Specialized Adult Care is a licensed private home care provider in the State of Georgia.

Requirements:

  • Certified Nursing Assistance (CNA)
  • Current background check, CPR, and TB immunization
  • Experienced companion sitter
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license
  • Pass drug and alcohol testing

Duties:

The daily duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant depend on his/her work setting, and include the following:

  • Observing residents.
  • Reporting any health issues to the supervising nurse.
  • Taking care of a resident’s personal hygiene, including bed bath, shaving, nail care etc.
  • Toileting residents.
  • Emptying catheter bags.
  • Monitoring vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
  • Setting up of meal trays, and documenting food / fluid intake.
  • Feeding residents.
  • Serving nutritional supplements.
  • Making beds.
  • Keeping the residents space clean and tidy.
  • Bringing the resident to the therapy area.
  • Turning bed ridden residents to prevent bedsores.

A Certified Nursing Assistant, also known as a CNA, have a demanding, challenging but ultimately rewarding. Work in hospitals, extended care facilities, assisted living centers, adult day care centers, home health agencies, hospice agencies, and other medical settings, and residential community, these centers work in close patients with basic care for their physical and emotional needs. A Certified Nursing Assistant, is authorized to perform specific tasks to help nurses. Certified Nursing Assistants work closely with patients to help provide basic care for their physical and emotional needs, and can also perform vital signs and administer medications, if a license to do so. These include, but not to handle the drugs (unless authorized to do so).

People with certain personality traits make the best Certified Nursing Assistants. These include the sensitivity, confidence, maturity, positive attitude, patience and reliability. In addition, you should be able to lift and transfer patients from a wheelchair to bed, you must have a strong back. You must be able to stand for long periods, so that your feet should be in good condition. Generally, it is better to be in good physical condition before making his decision to take this career.

Certified Nursing Assistants are employed in hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient clinics and individuals to take care of daily needs of the patient. Much of Certified Nursing Assistant‘s work involves tasks of personal care such as bathing, dressing and feeding patients, as well as brushing teeth and preparing the hair. NAC and help patients get out of bed, often by lifting or carrying them and help them to go to surgery and treatment. In some contexts, for example, is an elder care and other assisted-living facilities, certified nursing assistants are responsible for helping patients get daily exercise, and directing or participating in field trips or group activities .

In almost all workplaces, Certified Nursing Assistant‘s will meet the demands of patients’ care, taking vital signs, and monitor their behavior and the condition of the progress or deterioration. This level of practical interaction also means that the CNA to do the tasks that some might escape, including the modification or pans dirty underwear. All Certified Nursing Assistant work under the supervision of a nurse with experience, and report any problems or the worsening of the patient, the staff of the institution. Other work requirements may be smooth and clean to keep stocks, cleans the patient’s room, doing laundry, and to assist small medical interventions.
